Job Details

I am currently representing a market leading consumer goods company located in Hamburg that is actively searching for a Global Category Manager in Chemicals to join their procurement function. The organisation employs over 20, 000 people globally and are constantly growing into emerging markets. Responsibilities:

  • Developing and integrating global sourcing strategies for the chemicals & raw materials commodity group
  • Consistently assessing opportunities and questioning existing practices to enhance the value contribution of Procurement within the raw materials category
  • Proactively recognising potential improvements in collaboration with internal stakeholders, such as R&D and Quality
  • Leading the creation and execution of processes aimed at identifying, monitoring, and mitigating risks within your area of responsibility, including the reduction of single sourcing and the establishment of business continuity plans
  • Facilitating the development of processes focused on standardisation, efficiency, automation, and digitisation
  • Accountable for ensuring adherence to legal obligations, Procurement standards, and non-procurement procedures within your area of responsibility.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Several years of procurement experience, ideally focusing on chemicals
  • Fluent in English
  • Demonstrated proficiency in stakeholder engagement complemented by exceptional communication abilities
  • Innovative mindset, enthusiastic about challenging conventional practices and possessing an entrepreneurial drive
  • Strong analytical capabilities and a results-driven approach
  • Excellent familiarity with the MS Office suite and SAP software
