Procurement Consultant - Public Sector Construction - Global Brand

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + package

Location: South West England (Bristol, Plymouth, Cardiff) - Flexible and hybrid working offered

Role Overview:

The consultancy is seeking multiple experienced Procurement & Commercial Managers to join their expanding team in the South West. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in procurement and commercial management, particularly within the public sector construction arena. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of functions, including:

  • Sourcing and Procurement: Developing and executing procurement strategies aligned with project objectives and client policies.
  • Contract Management: Overseeing the preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts to ensure compliance and value for money.
  • Supply Chain Management: Managing relationships with suppliers to optimise performance and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Commercial Strategy Development and Execution: Crafting and implementing commercial strategies that drive business growth and profitability.
  • Assisting in structuring teams and processes to enhance efficiency and meet strategic goals.
  • Business Transformation and Change: Leading initiatives that drive organisational change and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Tendering Processes and Analysis: Managing the end-to-end tendering process, including the evaluation of bids and selection of suppliers.
  • Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project success.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in procurement within public sector construction or infrastructure sectors.
  • Professional qualifications such as CIPS or MCIPS are highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and/or JCT contract frameworks.
  • Familiarity with UK public sector procurement processes, including relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
