Certain Advantage are working with a global Engineering and Technical services firm to hire a Commercial Manager to be based out of their Somerset offices.

The Opportunity:

Our client is engaged in critical projects within the Nuclear Power sector across the UK and Europe, including new build and innovative technology developments. Our teams are embedded in major projects across the UK right now, contributing to significant advancements in the nuclear energy industry.

Role Overview:

As a Commercial Manager, you will be part of the Supply Chain team responsible for supporting a Design, Manufacturing, and Installation contract for a major turbine project. You will collaborate daily with Programme Delivery, Finance, and Legal teams, while also managing the relationship with the supplier. Strong relationship management with both the supplier and internal stakeholders will be crucial to optimize the contract's performance in terms of cost, delivery, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the commercial and contract management of a major turbine programme.
  • Assist in contract management processes, including drafting and negotiating contract variations.
  • Administer contracts throughout their lifecycle, utilizing contract management tools.
  • Ensure adherence to established governance, processes, and procedures.
  • Foster high-performing supplier relationships within a collaborative culture.
  • Transfer key operational expertise between significant projects.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate a proven track record in successful contract administration for large infrastructure projects or similar.
  • Exhibit excellent leadership, prioritization, negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Possess experience in regulated environments and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and professional chartership (e.g., RICS, MCIPS).
  • Hold a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
