Madisons Recruitment are recruiting for a Construction Buyer for a reputable contractor located near Epping, Essex on a permanent basis.

This role will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services according to company need and demands of our construction requirements. Working in close collaboration with the Project Managers, design team and procurement manager, this key role will ensure the procurement and timely delivery of goods and services required by the business. The ability to negotiate competitive prices, commercial terms and ensure on time and budget delivery is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement and scheduling of products, materials, plant, and equipment
  • Ensuring purchases offer best value
  • Monitoring and reporting of price increases, updating internal spread sheets.
  • Tracking orders and proactively addressing any failed or late deliveries
  • Arranging the return of non-conforming products
  • Maintaining and developing the supply chain
  • Identification of new products
  • Processing of purchase ledger records

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years Purchasing experience in the construction industry - ideally cladding/roofing
  • Experience and/or education in procurement and inventory management
  • Working knowledge of computer programs for word processing, email, and spreadsheets
