Purchasing Assistant / Buyer
Successful manufacturing business require a Buyer. Applicants need previous experience as a Buyer, or within purchasing, procurement, supply chain. A fast paced-operational purchasing environment.
The Buyer will work within a small, multi-functional team reporting to a Procurement Manager. A fast-paced manufacturing environment, the Buyer will work closely with supply chain partners to ensure continuity of supply to the facility. The Buyer will also work closely with internal colleagues in the warehouse and customer services.
Specific duties of the Buyer include:
- Purchase order management process - raise, place, chase/expedite
- Maintenance of procurement department data in company MRP/ERP system
- Tactical, spot negotiations with suppliers
- Handle invoice queries / invoice reconciliation
- Monitor stock levels
- Support Procurement Manager in development of procurement SOPs etc.
Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Previous experience as a Buyer, or working within purchasing, procurement or supply chain
- IT literacy - MS Office packages, or an MRP/ERP, similar business system
- Team player
- Strong communication skills
- Pro-active, positive attitude
