Indirect Strategic Sourcing Manager - £Multi-Billion Infrastructure firm

Salary: £50,000-55,000 + benefits package

Location: Buckinghamshire (1-2 times a week in the office)

This £Multi-Billion Giant are on a mission to own, and develop the infrastructure landscape of the UK, supporting economic prosperity and a cleaner, greener future for construction and transportation. As part of the Commercial & Procurement team, you will play a crucial role in leading the development and delivery of commercial strategies across various indirect categories.

In this role, you will join the Indirect Services sourcing team, working collaboratively with a team of 30+ procurement professionals. You will lead exciting and high-profile sourcing projects for internal customers, covering areas such as HR, Training, Supplies and Services, Facilities, Retail Property, Professional Services, Insurance, and Consultancy. You'll be an integral part of the team, contributing your expertise to create and deliver significant commercial and contractual value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing Leadership: Manage multi-million-pound sourcing activities, driving innovation and idea generation across complex spend categories within the Indirect Services portfolio.
  • Sourcing Framework Expertise: Apply the Sourcing Framework for opportunities, ensuring compliance with risk, governance, legislative, and regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiation and Savings Delivery: Leverage your negotiation skills to secure sourcing-enabled savings, working closely with customers, stakeholders, and Finance to exceed targets.
  • Innovation and Business Cases: Develop and implement sourcing-specific ideas and innovation-based business cases, addressing complex challenges in collaboration with customers and stakeholders.
  • Transition Management: Facilitate the seamless transition from Sourcing to Strategic Supplier Management, ensuring optimal delivery of contractual and relationship value.
  • Demand Management and Value Maximisation: Challenge and manage common sourcing requirements, maximising commercial value across multiple Routes and Regions through effective engagement and influencing strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead sourcing-aligned continuous improvement activities, conducting demand pipeline assessments, and driving an enhanced customer experience.
  • Market Practices Development: Enhance external market sourcing practices within the team, incorporating commercial models and total cost of ownership assessments, aligning with the ambition of achieving best-in-class capability.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven track record of deep sourcing experience with demonstrated savings delivery
  • Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skill set
  • Experience in contract law, financial management, and driving value from complex sourcing opportunities
  • Familiarity with agile cross-functional collaborative working methods
  • A demonstrated ability to influence at an executive level.
  • Problem-solving experience in addressing complex sourcing challenges
