Buyer

Our client is a well-established company based in the Scarborough area. They are currently looking for a Buyer to join their busy Purchasing department and support the wider business.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you could be dealing with a variety of requests for materials; including metal work and fabrications to meet the demands of the production schedule.

You will build relationships with suppliers, looking to improve lead times and reducing costs for materials, as well as managing the stock levels effectively to meet the needs of the business. You could be attending meetings with suppliers to discuss their performance and discuss ways to be more efficient, as you look make year on year cost savings.

That s why we are looking for someone who has previously worked in a manufacturing or service environment. Someone who has commercial awareness as well as experience of purchasing materials from within a similar role or as a junior buyer.

Someone who is able to work well on their own initiative, prioritise their workload effectively with excellent coordination and organisational skills whilst working in a pressurised environment. We are looking for someone who is dynamic and can bring new working practices and experiences to look to find improvements to current working practices.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, with free on-site parking available. If you are working towards or have your CIPS qualification it would be beneficial, although not essential.
