Are you a creative, ambitious and driven Buyer who is looking for more autonomy to make decisions? Our client has ambitious plans for growth and need a Buyer who can help them innovate their ranges, stay ahead of trends and spot opportunities. Looking to deliver great value to their clients.

You can have fun innovating their range, building great relations with suppliers, and driving the numbers, because they are a small business, you can get stuck into everything, you can develop the shop ranges and improve offers, taking full credit for delighting their lovely customers.

Primarily focusing on Clothing, Footwear, Homewares, Giftware and Outdoor Living but you can get involved in any product category - or even introduce whole new ranges!

This independent retailer has a strong presence in the agricultural community; so experience or an understanding of the needs and challenges of the rural community is of particular interest.

As a Buyer you will be responsible for:

  • Sourcing local products for location specific stores
  • Working with existing suppliers plus sourcing more
  • Ensuring product mix is correct.
  • Review Product ranges and recommend.
  • Understanding how visual merchandising instore works to assimilate the end product
  • Other aspects of the role include analysing data actioning, implementing and follow through on new and existing product lines

Previous experience:

  • Buying / product sourcing experience gained within a fast-paced retail environment
  • Strong commercial knowledge and skills aligned to the retail sector.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Proven leadership / management experience gained in a head office retail environment
