To negotiate and place purchase orders as per requirement, ensuring schedule reporting and delivery promises are maintained by suppliers.

• As the buyer you will negotiate and place purchase orders of all BOM components, consumables and other goods in line with production and business requirements and current procurement policies and procedures.
• To expedite orders in accordance with purchase order requirements
• Work with suppliers to communicate and improve deliveries, update systems accordingly
• Review and develop existing suppliers, negotiate contracts with new suppliers
• Management of supplier performance including development plans and reviews in line with company quality system, reviewing current KPI s for suppliers and creation of new ones
• Dealing with supplier enquiries and acknowledgements
• Searching for new suppliers to increase supply base, improve costs and reduce spend and delivery lead times
• Monitor Supplier Performance and provide feedback
• Updating sales cost sheets with current supplier pricing

Experience required

• Strong negotiation and excellent communication skills
• Buyer experience in and engineering/ manufacturing setting
• Understanding of inventory management (parts lists) processes and practice
• Good level of IT literacy (Excel and ERP/MRP )
• Car an Full driving licence
