Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager- GBP60,000 to GBP65,000 + Benefits- Leicester, Leicestershire

The Role

Are you a Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager with an understanding of the Construction Industry? Do you have experience and a proven track record of pricing and securing work in a similar role, preferably in Fencing/Construction? If so, we have a new challenge for you.

We are a privately owned Fencing Contractor, looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to push forward growth and take the company forward by driving commercial excellence within the business. You can expect to have fantastic opportunities to grow with a long established, successful company and play an integral part in the success of our business. It is a varied, autonomous role where no two days or projects are the same.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager include, but are not limited to:

• Check, agree and return orders by the stated deadline.
• Ensure early contact with the client s commercial staff to agree deadlines, etc.
• Ensure early agreement of due dates for payment and inform credit control.
• Resolve all contractual and commercial issues that may arise.
• Liaise with production regarding commercial matters relating to live projects.
• Value and agree variations and order materials where required.
• Value and return signed day work sheets by agreed deadline.
• Agree final accounts within two weeks of contract completion.
• Raise applications / invoices before the agreed deadline.
• Advise Company Accountant of any adjustments required each month.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager:

• HND/Degree qualification.
• An understanding of all current construction contracts/subcontracts.
• You must have excellent numerical skills and be a confident communicator, both written and oral.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
