Fire Safety Category Manager - Operations

Karter Thomas is a specialist in providing temporary, contract and permanent social housing professionals across the region.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a Housing Association based in the West Midlands for an experienced Fire Safety Category Manager to join their team.

Below is a summary of the duties:

• Ensure suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments are completed across the associations housing, care and commercial property portfolio
• Ensure that actions identified as part of FRAs, or other building inspections, are completed within the specified timeframe, including monitoring delegated actions (e.g. housing-related actions)
• Carry out site audits to confirm routine fire and building safety checks and inspections are being carried out and recorded appropriately
• Ensure all association staff, consultants, and contractors undertaking fire safety objectives as part of their duties/ contract are competent, e.g. Fire safety repairs, fire safety checks on properties, Fire door inspections and installation, risk assessments, fire marshals
• To be responsible for the development and training of employees within their sphere of management
• Share technical and regulatory knowledge for managing and maintaining fire safety measures across the Group, including providing guidance and instruction to all levels of property, housing and other support staff within the association

Must have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
