Operating out of attractive, new offices and manufacturing facility in the Corsham Science Park, the Group is now poised to embark on the next step in its ambitious journey.
The role
Bath ASU and Pharmaxo Pharmacy Services Ltd are looking for an experienced and pro-active Procurement Specialist with previous procurement experience, showing strong commercial and business acumen. As part of a team of 4 you will take ownership of your accounts and work with the operating companies to improve the way procurement operates.
Duties & responsibilities
- Forecasting likely levels of demand for services, products and/or component parts to be used in any manufacturing process;
- Keeping a constant check on stock levels to maximise business efficiency;
- Process forecast gap analysis responses and mitigate risks to continual supply;
- Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers;
- Identifying potential suppliers;
- Supporting bid evaluation and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors;
- Negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress;
- Checking costs, quality and levels of service;
- Monitoring and reporting supplier performance against functional Key Process Indicators (KPI s)
- Conducting research to ascertain market trends and needs;
- Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities;
- Developing market knowledge and contacts for new products and services;
- Attending meetings and trade conferences;
- Visiting distribution centres and suppliers;
- Producing reports and statistics;
- Attend study days and up-dating courses to support the development of the procurement function and your own skills and knowledge
The skills and attributes you will need
- Experience of working in a procurement role.
- The ability to apply specialist knowledge and analysis skills. CIP s qualification (level 4) would be an advantage
- In-depth technical knowledge and pro-active in guiding the Procurement Team
- Numerically confident and Microsoft Office literate.
- This role will be predominantly office based in Corsham, Wiltshire
Qualities you will need
- Good communication skills, being a good negotiator and enjoy dealing with people, whether by phone or in person
- Perseverance to overcome challenges, in line with our Value that Patients Come First
- Eager to learn and start or continue study for the Chartered Institute of Purchasing (CIPs) qualification
- The ability to empathise with both patients and your fellow staff
- Flexible and able to work within the stores and factory area for stock management
