Role description:

If you re a transport planner who is ambitious to make your mark by helping develop transport projects in Wales, read on. Join our Arcadis team as a transport planner and you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of transport studies and schemes across the region.

We are seeking a transport planner who has the ability to think in a problem solving and multi-disciplinary way. You need to be interested in analysing transport issues, understanding policy and helping to develop transport strategies and schemes through effective engagement with stakeholders. Having experience of commissions that involve traffic studies, active travel or public transport as well as undertaking transport assessments and developing travel plans would be desirable.

Our team is involved in some of Wales s most complex and stimulating transport projects that are diverse and technically demanding for clients including Welsh Government, Transport for Wales and many local authorities, including active travel and public transport projects. Across the UK we also work on transport projects, energy and infrastructure developments and residential and commercial schemes, providing transport advice as part of multi-disciplinary teams for clients including Homes England and a range of private developers and local authorities.

Role accountabilities:

Coordinating site surveys, data analysis and baseline reviews
Leading on transport assessments and travel plans for a wide range of developments
Contributing to strategies and studies relating to active travel, public transport and highways
Providing transport inputs to multi-disciplinary masterplans and environmental assessments
Leading meetings with clients and stakeholders as well as working with other disciplines and consultants on projects

Qualifications & Experience:

Degree or equivalent in Geography, Planning or related subject (Masters Degree in Transport Planning desirable)
Working towards or chartered with a relevant professional body
Delivery focussed
Ability to work independently and in the team
Strong analytical and report writing skills
Enthusiasm to be part of growing the business
Travel Flexibility
Working in a multi-disciplinary consulting environment
