Job title: Band 6 Procurement/Pharmacy Technician
Salary: Dependant on experience
Hours: 37.5 per week
Location: 60, Grove End Road, London, NW8 9NH
We are currently looking for a Band 6 Procurement/Pharmacy technician to join our close-knit team on a permanent basis.
The Pharmacy department at St John and St Elizabeth Hospital provides a comprehensive pharmaceutical service to all patients attending the Hospital. This includes a clinical and supply function to all wards and departments. The successful post-holder will be responsible for the procurement of pharmaceuticals in a cost efficient manner, ensuring stock valuation and stock levels are accurate. This will include ordering stock according to current contracts, managing stock discrepancies and reconciling orders.
Prior experience within a similar role is a must.

BTec in Pharmaceutical Services or NVQ3 in Pharmacy services or equivalent
Registered with the Royal Pharmaceutical Council
Previous experience of working in a Pharmacy, ideally within a Hospital setting
Extensive experience of stock control
Good communication skills, written and oral
Pharmacy systems knowledge
What are the Responsibilities of this Band 6 Procurement/ Pharmacy Technician role?
To implement and maintain changes to procedures in purchasing and invoicing, as necessary.
To supervise staff when involved with purchasing, invoicing and receipt of goods.
To ensure pharmaceuticals are purchased against agreed contracts where possible,
To amend the pharmacy computer system on a regular basis to reflect any relevant contract changes.
To undertake dispensing of medicines including using the pharmacy labelling and stock control computer system for inpatient and outpatients, and patient counselling, as appropriate.
To maintain appropriate dispensing records on the pharmacy computer system.
To ensure good stock control in the dispensary and on the wards in conjunction with other Pharmacy Staff
The supervision of or active preparation of a limited range of extemporaneous medicines
Dispense medicines and provide annual leave or sickness cover for other team members if required.
