About Us
Joining our team you'll be getting involved in some exciting projects, working collaboratively not only with internal departments but local businesses, universities and even the Ministry of Justice, focusing on how we can help consumers to Reduce, Reuse & Recycle by offering a wide breadth of products.

The Role
As a procurement specialist you will help to develop and improve our commercially viable range of products and services at Sue Ryder Direct. The role reports to the Products and Services procurement manager working alongside retail colleagues at all levels, managing external contractors, suppliers and agents.

About You
You will need proven experience of purchasing and buying procedures and processes, with an understanding of supply chains. A proven track record of sourcing products and services, either new or donated for other business is ideal along with a general understanding of materials sustainability credentials as well as key manufacturing processes and their environmental impact and the product upcycling process. You will be highly skilled in range development, working to budgets/sales, stock and profit targets. The successful applicant will have the ability to network, and be able to use market knowledge to react and predict trends. Attention to detail with numeracy and strong IT skills are essential in order to succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement range in line with overall Products & Services strategy
• Accurately track sales, margin, breakages, customer reviews, supplier performance, consumer buying habits, market trends, cost of materials
• Keep abreast of key developments impacting sustainability within the supply chain and manufacturing process
• Contribute and develop the budget for a specified range and plan stock targets for each trading channel (shops and online) accordingly
• Work with Merchandise team to deliver on forecasted stock targets identifying any over or under performance and recommending appropriate action
• Develop category supply base that promotes sustainability and is aligned to the overall Sue Ryder Retail strategy.
