About the job

Hi, we are Northern Gas and Power.

Northern Gas and Power (a subsidiary of Global Procurement Group) is a global energy procurement consultant and is the largest energy consultancy in Europe. We guide businesses of all sizes ranging from SMEs to global and international organisations in purchasing their energy contracts.

We set up comprehensive strategies for organisations to procure their energy contracts, negotiate contracts with energy suppliers, introduce and operate risk management frameworks; collect, check and analyse invoices, and calculate their GHG emissions and carbon footprints.

Our consultancy is supported by our unique ClearVUE platform that brings together and visualises information from a global energy portfolio down to the last detail - helping our clients work towards their net zero goals and ensuring compliance with climate-related legislation.

The Opportunity

For this role, we are looking to hire an outbound Sales B2B Energy Procurement Specialist (EPS) to support our UK clients. You will be part of our Energy Procurement team.

Your primary responsibilities will be cold calling UK businesses, to establish their energy procurement requirements and exploring solutions that best fit their needs.

A successful EPS has a winning attitude, consistently meets targets and grows their client portfolio through proactive customer engagement and strategic, disciplined prospect management. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, driven and motivated to succeed with a winning attitude

What is the job about?

Here are some of the common questions you will help your customers answer:

How do I deal with the current price volatility in energy markets?
How do I put together a good purchasing strategy?
How do I negotiate my energy contracts?
How do I minimise and manage risk for my business?
How do I green my energy supply?
How do I achieve net carbon zero?

What exactly will you do?

As a consultant you will be required to engage various activities such as:

Cold calling potential clients and explaining the benefits of using Northern Gas and Powers services and solutions
Analysis of current procurement strategy. Determine the customers current purchasing strategy and find ways to improve it.
Risk management. Based on analysis and a client's strategic profile, you will pro-actively advise clients on procurement options to mitigate risks and deliver savings with your procurement strategy.
Tender preparations and supplier negotiations. You will be required to prepare tenders to our panel of 87 international energy suppliers & negotiate the best procurement contract for your clients.
Quotation analysis. You will provide analysis of energy contract proposals to your clients. You will analyse offers, edit comparative spreadsheets, comment the results of your analysis to clients and lead the negotiation process.
Close the deal and onboard the client. Once a deal has been closed you will follow our processes and onboard your clients onto our internal CRM system - so computer literacy is essential
Manage client relationships. Once you have started to build your client portfolio, you will act as their single point of contact managing their energy needs and monitoring your pipeline for renewal or further business opportunities.

You will receive a thorough onboarding process, where we will give you full industry and sales training - everything you need to onboard your first client. After this you will be equipped to develop and manage your own client portfolio, enjoying a great deal of independence in organising your time and work schedule.
