Lead Procurement Manager – Engineering & Maintenance | Major FTSE 250 Brand

£65,000 - £75,000 + 20% Bonus | Bedfordshire

Overview:

A well-known UK brand is looking for a Lead Procurement Manager to join their rapidly expanding procurement function and take ownership of all category planning and spend related to their Engineering and Maintenance division.

The vacancy has arisen due to recent internal promotions, including the appointment of a new Procurement Director, who has refocused the team and invested in additional headcount to ensure delivery against corporate objectives.

Working alongside the Head of Category and supported by two direct reports, you will take full accountability for designing, implementing, and delivering cost-effective, benefits driven strategies across the Engineering and Maintenance spend category.

In addition to a competitive salary and benefits package, the company provides unparalleled opportunities for personal and professional growth, and an innovative, meritocratic environment in which success is recognised and rewarded.

What the role involves:

Develop and implement clear short / mid / long term strategies to deliver a pipeline of value-add Engineering & Maintenance projects, collaborating closely with the business segment to agree clear service specifications, and influencing key internal stakeholders to gain support and buy in.
Identify appropriate sourcing, through a balanced scorecard approach, to best meet business requirements, and manage the tender, negotiation, and contracting process for service/product provision.
Support SRM policies to ensure consistent practices, nurturing robust supplier relationships at board level to leverage strategic importance, negotiating charges to improve competitive advantage, and driving continuous improvement within the supply base.
Leverage knowledge of revenue models and supplier capability to identify additional income, monitoring/reporting actual financial performance against plan and addressing variances.

The person we hope to find:

Minimum 5-10 years’ experience working in a corporate procurement function, ideally within engineering / industrial manufacturing organisations e.g. automotive, defence & aerospace, oil & gas.
Exposure to engineering and maintenance categories and/or an engineering or similarly technical background.
High level of competency in all aspects of procurement, including category management, contract management, supplier relationship management, governance and compliance.
Superlative interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills up to Director/C-level, with the charisma and gravitas required to drive engagement and influence senior business leaders to align to procurement objectives.
Degree qualified / MCIPS accredited (desirable).

Salary and Benefits:

£65,000 – £75,000 + 20% bonus + multiple share schemes + 7% employer pension contribution + staff discounts + flexible benefits + 25 days holiday

If you possess the skill set required to be successful in this role, and are keen to join an innovative, agile procurement function within a leading FTSE 250 brand, we would love to hear from you.
