Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council is proactively planning its future workforce, particularly with a view to supporting the Council’s commercial activities.
As part of this process, we are looking to develop a more strategic approach to procurement; in order to achieve this, an opportunity has arisen to join Team NPT.
We are currently looking for a Principal Procurement Officer (Policy & Strategy) to join our team.
The jobs entails aiding in the management, planning and delivery of a cost effective corporate procurement function, through the coordination and management of a wide and varies supply base, and to lead in the modernisation of procurement across the Council, linking procurement arrangements to the Council’s Corporate Plan.
The work will involve developing the necessary in-house skills, and to implement legislative and procurement reform, by leading on strategic procurement across all areas of the Council, ensuring that all procurement activities operate within the context of value for money, efficiency and continuous improvement and to ensure compliance with legal obligations.
Ideally you will have an MCIPS qualification, or equivalent Business or management related Qualification (pending qualification in the next 12 months will be accepted).
