Senior Buyer

This organisation is one of the fastest growing global organisation in it's specialist area. They focus on developing and manufacturing new, innovative and reliable products for a variety of specific areas.

The Senior Buyer has responsibility for leading and/or assisting with cross-functional projects,effectively managing a full range of stakeholders, driving projects successfully towards defined and agreed results, and promoting project success. The Senior Buyer also acts as the liaison between the
Sourcing, Engineering, Finance and Factory business units in support of Sourcing projects and objectives; participates in or facilitates business process improvement.

The ideal candidate will have prior work experience in Sourcing, with an emphasis on Project Management and strategy implementation. They are looking for someone with a background from a regulated industry, ability to work through issues and improve processes and be confident in leading and support of projects, working closely with the Global Sourcing Manager and Sourcing team both on site and globally.

The Sourcing team is supporting the transformation and growth as it becomes the fastest growing, business in it's industry.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Supplier projects within the plant for new component introduction, cost savings and stay-in-business initiatives.
  • Working closely with the GSM on the rollout of global sourcing strategies for commodities that impact the site taking due account of stakeholder mapping, spend analysis, understanding of current and future demands, supplier improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Manage the overall planning, control, status reporting, stability and delivery of projects across several functions to ensure delivery of plan to time and quality.
  • Working closely with Senior Buyer/Planner and as a team to effectively manage suppliers, internal processes - eliminate transactional tasks, cost reduction opportunities, and data management.
  • Manage implementation schedules for commodity strategies and supply agreements.
  • Assist with Supplier Management issues as necessary


What experience you need to be the successful Senior Buyer:

  • Previous experience managing complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Previous Procurement experience ideally working in regulated industry, with direct materials and within a Manufacturing environment.
  • High-level understanding of ISO 13485, EU MDR and other Regulatory processes.
  • Strategic Sourcing Processes including Market Analysis, RFx, Source-to-Pay.
  • Comfort and courage to operate in new areas of the business with limited direction.

Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field.
  • Previous experience in project management and/or data analytics role.
  • Strong data analysis skills (extremely proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; SmartSheets).
  • Initiative/ability to lead projects and be a supportive team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as teamwork and interpersonal skills, to include the ability to develop high quality working relationships both internally and externally with customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to listen to, and work effectively with cross functional teams in a collaborative, team environment.
  • Curious, creative problem solver.
