Our Central Manchester based client are looking to appoint a Category Assistant to join their General Goods and Services department
The aim of the role is to lead and deliver a profession supply chain service with a focus on improvements in service and costs savings / avoidance in nominate areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established city centre company with an abundance of personal development opportunities.
Duties will include:
Ability to work within a team and have a pro-active approach to also work independently
Implement group sourcing strategies -helping to develop and implement contract and purchase orders through agreed processes
Liaise daily with colleagues nationwide
Work independently with Category Managers to ensure that appropriate Pos are in place with the Supply Chain policy spend
Day to day liaison with service partners
Monitor new vendor set up forms to vet potential vendors
Support or lead low level sourcing process including analysis of data
Assist departments to better control costs and improve services within budgets
Review spends and Vendor performance across service line areas
Provide administrative support to the service line team
Develop service line knowledge
Able to act with integrity and confidentiality
Respond to adhoc activities from stakeholders
There is an element of flexibility with this role, but it will mainly be office based.
