Commodity Buyer - Non-Production
A global manufacturing engineering organisation require a Commodity Buyer to focus on Non-Production procurement. Applicants need procurement expertise within a manufacturing or engineering business.
The Commodity Buyer will be responsible for leading procurement activity across Non-Production, MRO and Class C component spend areas. This is a true end-to-end procurement opportunity, from tendering/sourcing to contract negotiation and supplier management. The Commodity Buyers are supported by Buyers who handle, more operational/MRP tasks.
Specific duties of the Commodity Buyer include:
Assist in supporting the development of procurement strategies in the Non-Production, MRO, Class C space
Support strategic procurement tasks around supplier selection/de-selection and cost savings/avoidance
Evaluation of tender responses
Contract negotiation and award
Collaborate with quality in regards to NCR and supplier quality issues
Supplier relationship management
Commodity Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
Procurement experience within a manufacturing or engineering business
Accustomed to using data to drive procurement decisions
Experience of driving improved supplier performance
The ability to negotiate and undertake supply market intelligence activities
Achievement in strategic procurement tasks
