If you're a senior procurement leader who can get to Birmingham twice a week, have a proven background in MRO and Capex procurement and happen to know a thing or two about the rail industry then have we got the job for you!
What's on offer?
What will you be doing?
You'll take full strategic responsibility for a £100m+ spend on Engineering, predominantly focused around MRO and Capex. Capex in this business will be things like locomotive trains and wagons as well as cranes and other large scale equipment used at various depots, and the MRO will cover both the rolling stock and fixed assets. There is currently a huge buy vs lease decision to be made and you'll be responsible for compiling and presenting the full business cases for each option. You'll be responsible for putting in place the overarching procurement strategy covering the next 5-10 years due to the long lifecycle management requirement of these assets. You'll also play a key role in helping this business move toward net zero by 2030. Team wise you'll have a minimum of two direct reports (pending a potential re-shuffle of reporting lines) and a wider indirect team of buyers and analysts - you'll be expected to motivate, mentor and develop your staff to help them realise their potential. Key deliverables will be based around delivery of annual savings budget and the creation and implementation of robust long term strategies.
Who will you be doing it for?
You'll be joining a leading UK rail freight business who provide a modern working environment and forward thinking approach. They offer long term career development/growth opportunities and will give you full autonomy and support to do things your way.
What do you need to bring to the table?
To be successful in this role it's expected you'll be able to bring the majority (no-one's perfect!) of the following skills and experience:
If the above sounds like the next step in your already successful career, and you’d like to learn more, apply today with a copy of your CV, LinkedIn profile or whatever you have for immediate consideration – every application is reviewed by a person, and everyone will get a response, it’s the least you deserve.
