Our client who has an impressive programme of works and client base is keen to talk to a Buyer who is looking to grow and develop there already strong cost planning and local subcontractor knowledge. This award winning regional contractor is looking to appoint a Buyer and join an experienced team one based in Cornwall and one based in Devon. These are of great importance so we are looking to talk to Buyers who can bring some input and experience into the role.
About your new Role:
With sites across Cornwall and an extensive client base; covering commercial, and residential housing schemes this is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to join a forward -thinking team of like- minded professionals.
Your position will will be procure all the materials required for building projects and ensure they are provided on time and within allocated budgets. You will play a vital role, as you will ensure the profitability of business contracts, by purchasing the most cost-effective and appropriate materials for each job.
Requirments / Qualifications:
Committed and highly motivated.
5+ years relevant buying experience
Good working knowledge of procurement for the house building or construction industry
Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, Word, Excel, Outlook etc
Experience of managing and negotiating with multiple suppliers
Experience of researching building materials
A related construction qualification is desirable
