Senior Category Manager

A global outsourced technology provider is looking for a Senior Category Manager to work across the EMEA region on a variety of projects.

Procurement Heads is working exclusively with a global outsourced technology provider that is looking to appoint its next Senior Category Manager to support the 32 countries across EMEA on a variety of procurement projects.

This is an acquisitive company that has seen vast growth over the past 7.5 years from $4bn to $14bn in revenue.

The Senior Category Manager - EMEA role will see you manage a whole host of procurement projects across a broad range of categories from fleet to contingent labour to IT.

This is a matrix organisation so while you directly report to the Procurement Director and work as part of a team of 14 globally, you will work on multiple projects at any given time and have dotted lines into those projects as a result.

You won't directly manage anyone yourself either, but you will have flexible resources internally to help manage those projects. 

Around 60% of the role is cost savings related and you will need to be able to demonstrate your creativity in 'making a deal' to achieve those savings through a variety of methods and not just through leveraging spend.

Procurement must be able to demonstrate its value to the business or will run into significant challenges. You will therefore need to be able to evidence your stakeholder management and influencing skills to be successful.

Due to the nature of the work, there is also a lot of emphasis placed on security and risk management and knowledge in these areas would prove useful.
