Are you an experienced Buyer/Planner with experience in a capacity planning role within a manufacturing environment if so this could be the perfect role for you.Within this position you will be responsible for scheduling, release and maintaining manufacturing orders liaising with other departments as required to resolve material shortages and production capacity issues.

Responsibilities and Duties

* To manage the daily production schedule based on customer orders, availability of materials, manufacturing capacity and creation date of production orders Stock Transport Orders (STO).

* Co-ordinate discussions between areas of the business to solve issues impacting the production schedule.

* Ensure SAP accuracy of production schedule dates, Stock Transport Order (STO) dates and other data impacting Product Availability

* Update product availability dates in system so that this information is available to customer through SAP.

* Liaise with customer service representatives to understand existing and future demands

* Communicate plans and forecasts to internal stakeholders

* Review plans with Supply Chain Manager to ensure efficient resource allocation and usage

* Support meetings supplying relevant data, provide updates on plans and highlight concerns relating to actual or potential issues

* Escalate any issues to Line Manager particularly when there is risk which could prevent the organisation meeting customer demands or where there are over capacity concerns

* Prepare and maintain statistics to share with internal stakeholders and provide information as required in relation to organisational metrics and updates

Qualifications and Required Skills

* GCSE Level A-C, IVQ Technician certificate, BTec first certificate or equivalent NVQ level 2 qualification,

* Knowledge and experience of using SAP or similar ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems

* Good IT systems knowledge and skills including Excel and the ability to learn new software packages

* Knowledge of production/manufacturing processes and lead times

* Good communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally

* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills

* Analytical and problem solving skills

* Numeracy, statistical and reporting skills with the ability to analyse, interpret and manage information, data and trends

* Collaborative approach to working with others

Key Attributes for Success

* Experience in a capacity planning role within a manufacturing environment

* Experience of capacity/forecasting modelling and planning.

* Commitment to work towards professional accreditation with an industry related body
