I am pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to work with a global, market leading, manufacturing business in South Lancashire who operate from a custom built site and pride themselves on investing in the best people and equipment to remain at the forefront of their respective industry.
Due to company growth their Supply Chain department is seeking an experienced Strategic Buyer to join their busy and growing team and be involved in all aspects of strategic purchasing.
The company manufacture a number of different products and the role will entail both full spectrum strategic purchasing including LTA s, contracts, supplier development, supplier sourcing and negotiation.
Overview of the Role day to day:
Driving cost reduction initiatives across the supply chain by focusing on identifying cost down opportunities with current and new suppliers.
Identifying, sourcing, tendering for new suppliers.
Implementing LTA s and issuing Supply Contracts.
Creating a detailed database of existing suppliers and their capabilities.
Identifying, planning and implementing continuous improvement opportunities across the supply chain.
Essential Requirements:
3+ Years Purchasing experience within a Manufacturing / Engineering environment
To be able to display proven cost savings.
Desirable Requirements:
Ideally be CIPs qualified or working towards CIPs qualification
The company are offering a salary of GBP35k-GBP40k, the hours would be 08:30-17:00 (Mon to Thurs). 08:30-15:00 (Fri) with flexibility available at the managers discretion, Pension, Lap Top & phone provided.
