Premier HVAC Company, long established, high turnover and well respected, seeks an experienced Buyer (CIPS qualified ideally but qualified by experience acceptable) to join their busy, expanding team. Offered as a Permanent contract with hybrid working available, competitive salary and additional company benefits. If you have previous experience as a Buyer within a manufacturing environment, this is an exciting opportunity to develop a career with an ethical, leading organisation.
Buyer Duties & Responsibilities:
* Own sourcing activities (operational, tactical and strategic) for relevant category of expenditure (e.g. bought in services, warm air componentry)
* Monitor and report on key commodity market pricing and provide forecast to wider business to better aid PPV mitigation and pricing decision making
* Prepare Contracts and Supply Agreements following robust supplier quality assessments in conjunction with other functions e.g. quality, innovation
* Identify supply risk areas and provide adequate security of supply, focusing on localising the supply chain and improving resilience
* Initiate and project manage cost reduction activities through to implementation
* Liaising with the Q.C./Production /Innovation and Supplier to maintain agreed quality levels and contributing to supplier rating data
* Contribution to make vs buy decision making, working with finance to provide clarity of information and assessment to business leadership
* New product representative for purchasing defining supplier selection and all contract terms, working closely with Innovation through the product development life cycle
* Report on KPI dashboard, with detailed data analysis
* Maintain excellent relationships both internally and externally with regular site and supplier visits
Skills & Experience required by successful candidate for the role of Buyer:
* CIPS qualified - desirable
* Previous experience working in a purchasing function within a Manufacturing company
* Relationship management - capable of developing effective relationships with suppliers so mutual goals can be achieved
* Excellent communication skills
* Confident negotiator and able to deal with complex procurement activities
* Experience of dealing with diverse Suppliers is advantageous
* Capable of displaying a bias for action
* Committed to excellent in EHS through their own behaviour and standards set within own work activity
Location: Brierley Hill (Home working available 2 days per week)
Hours of work: 37.5 hours weekly (part time job share also considered)
Salary: GBP45,000 p.a. to GBP50,000 p.a. dependent upon experience
