Buyer - Lightside
Our client is one of the leading Builders Merchants, covering Wales and the South West. Due to expansion they are seeking a Buyer for their Carmarthen based office. As a buyer you will report into the Head of Procurement and be responsible for the procurement of their light side product range.
The role offers a basic salary of GBP30k and a company car
The Role
Your primary responsibility as a buyer would be to keep on top of the entire category from plumbing and heating products to products for the kitchen and bathroom. Key tasks will include:
Build a regional knowledge base of preferred plumbing and heating brands
Negotiating prices with suppliers for centrally bought products and arrange distribution to branch.
Supervising the buying of branch based purchases
Work with marketing to ensure orders and place to ensure adequate stock levels to support promotional activities
Recommend amendments to price structure within stock profile to maximise revenues
Rationalise and maintain stock profiles for each supplier based on demandThe Person
We need someone who is experienced of products associated with heating, bathrooms or kitchens. Ideally you should have worked in a procurement or buying capacity, but any role that has this product knowledge would be considered.
You will be highly organised, have fantastic negotiation skills and able to communicate effectively both with suppliers and also internally. The company have a very vibrant culture so someone who fits in with a company that are talkative is important too.
