As the UK Assistant Buyer you will be required to assist the Purchasing Manager with responsibilities such as ensuring adequate stock levels are held to meet Customer demand. You will be expected to report daily on stock levels and raise and process orders.
Reports to: Purchasing Manager
Contract: Permanent
Hours of Work: Monday - Thursday - 08.30am - 5.00pm and Friday - 09.00am - 12.00pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Working in a team of 4 which consists of a Buyer and a Junior Buyer, you will:
Manage supplier relationships, dealing with order queries & invoice queries, outstanding orders, urgent requirements, providing forecast data
Raise purchase orders to suppliers through Exact Globe and Slimstock
Review out of stock parts and chase accordingly, reviewing and negotiating all Freight options
Support with current projects liaising with suppliers and dealing with DCO s, providing bi-weekly updates to the Senior management team
Communicate internally, providing updates on Inventory and shipments to the core Operations of the Business
Help manage the shared purchasing inbox, ensuring all emails are answered within a reasonable time frame
Support with Imports - Previous knowledge preferred / understanding of Imports process, however training will be provided
Requirements:
Confident dealing both with internal colleagues and suppliers
Excellent communication skills verbally and written
Fluent English speaker
Team player - be able to work well as part of a team, but also use their own initiative when required.
Methodical and good attention to detail
A minimum of 1 year of purchasing experience is preferred
High proficiency in Excel and Outlook
