Job Title: Materials Buyer
Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
Salary: GBP26,000 per year
Hours: 07:30am - 4:30pm (Mon - Thurs)
07:30am - 12:00pm (Friday)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: Permanent

Job Description:
To process all purchasing activities on a daily basis, ensuring all materials are sourced at a competitive price, to the required quality and delivered on-time to meet agreed deadlines set in manufacturing schedule. Ensure high standards of Health & Safety, right first time, material cost efficiency, delivery lead times and service level are consistently achieved. Provide fast resolution to any material issues identified and support good levels of communication throughout business. Support improved standards in purchasing and stock control performance using lean sourcing methods, continuous improvement (CI) tools and KPI monitors.

Key accountabilities:
*Responsibility for daily purchasing activities for sourcing materials at the right quality, right price, on-time, with a short lead time and optimized stock control levels.
*Responsibility for processing of purchasing orders.
*Deliver cost efficient sourcing of materials in-line with budget levels.
*Ensure best practice procurement methods are adopted & continuously improved.
*Ensure full compliance with HSE + Quality standards.
*Ensure KPI targets for RFT, efficiency, cost, lead times and service are achieved.
*To adhere to all deadlines and targets set by the Line Manager.
*Establish good working relationship with all functions of the business.
*Reporting of key Health and Safety / HR issues to Materials Manager on a timely basis.
*Must be able to deliver Zero LTA's, supplier RFT >95%, on-time delivery >95%. Material cost
Experience:
*A good understanding of purchasing, ERP systems and stock control disciplines, together with Health and Safety and quality standards is required.
*+5 years purchasing experience within an electronics assembly environment, using best practice lean sourcing & stock control techniques.
*Education in purchasing / supply chain disciplines.
*The individual must be a "driven", well disciplined, logical thinking, self-motivated, team player, able to communicate at all levels and above all be highly "innovative" in delivering high standards in purchasing performance.
