Senior Buyer

Senior Buyer, High Wycombe, GBP40,000pa - GBP45,000pa plus Benefits:

MARS Recruitment is exclusively recruiting for a Senior Buyer on behalf of a key client in High Wycombe. This role would suit a Buyer with experience of purchasing electronic based components in a specialist manufacturing industry. On a day to day basis you will be involved in day to day buying activities, but you will also get involved with strategic procurement with a lot of current and future projects to get involved with.

The Company & Role:

Our client is a leading manufacturer of high technology products which are used by organisations around the world. Sat firmly in the FTSE 250, this exciting business is looking to recruit a Senior Buyer due to someone retiring within their Supply Chain Team. On a daily basis, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for supporting on-site production through MRP execution and demand knowledge analysis. You will establish strategic & tactical purchasing initiatives that drive the overall improvement of the business as well as day to day buying activities.

About you:

• Completed A-levels with Level 4 or higher CIPS certification or relevant tertiary diploma/degree (relevant work experience would be considered)
• Knowledge of purchasing concepts in a manufacturing environment
• Advanced working knowledge and use of ERP and MRP for BOM, scheduling, forecast analysis, and capacity planning
• Operation and interpretation of MRP process
• Work experience with New Product Introduction management
• Work experience in developing category and supplier management strategies
• Good negotiation skills
• Ability to analyse cost effectiveness and make sound business decisions
• A working knowledge of Kanban / Pull Systems/other JIT
• Raising tenders, undertaking quotation assessment and ability to analyse costs in relation to market analysis
• Experience of purchasing from global suppliers would be an advantage
• Ability to effectively analyse and present numerical data
