Senior Buyer

Being an experienced Senior Buyer, Project Buyer or even a Procurement Manager, you are therefore confident at building and maintaining relationships with Suppliers and have strong negotiation skills. Reading Engineering drawings is an important skill required for this position due to working for a technical Engineering company and to be able to support multi-million pound Engineering projects with their materials and purchasing requirements. In turn this company will be able to offer you the opportunity to develop yourself and if you haven t already gain your CIPS qualification.
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire
Hours: Full time, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm
Salary: up to GBP70,000 depending on experience

What you will be doing:
Negotiating prices and contracts with new and existing suppliers ensuring best value is achieved
Creating and maintaining relationships with Suppliers, sub- contractors and Clients
Ensuring that approved suppliers are used efficiently by completing supplier audits and reviews
Maintain adequate stock levels of raw materials and components across the company
Ensuring that relevant documentation and records are kept accurate
Working closely with the R&D team and Project Engineers supporting with multiple projects and looking at cost reductions
Producing analysis reports for the business on areas where cost savings can be made
Supporting and mentoring other members of the purchasing team, signing off holiday s and completing 1-1 s
About you:
Previously worked within an Engineering or Manufacturing environment and can read and understand Engineering drawings would support you in this opportunity
Experience with Sage 200 would be an advantage
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to support purchasing duties on multi-million pound Engineering projects
Excellent communication skills as you will be liaising with internal and external stakeholders
Exceptional organisational skills
Analytical mind to produce reports
