The Role

DCC have a vacancy for a Senior Procurement Category Manager to join their team of procurement professionals.

This job can be based in London or Manchester and you will be reporting into the Director of Procurement.

You will be working across a range of exciting and complex programmes and projects, delivering a strategic, efficient and flexible procurement service which will provide Value for Money for our customers and ensure high levels of stakeholder satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

Leading a team of Category Procurement Managers in accordance with the DCC procurement strategy and in line with the DCC Licence
Collaborating with key stakeholders to influence procurement choice, aiming to drive costs down and service up
Responsible for contract renewals and amendments and ensuring valid contracts are in place for your assigned categories.
Effectively build and maintain supplier partnerships
Analysing data and identifying trends, conducting market intelligence and utilising market engagement to design and deliver category sourcing strategies that enables strong outcomes for the business
Planning and maintaining the procurement pipeline and benefits / savings delivery plans
Contributing the development of contract terms and conditions alongside DCC commercial and legal teams
Contributing to development of pricing mechanisms, service levels and service credit mechanisms

Skills and Experiences Essential

MCIPS (or equivalent) qualified.
Strong leadership skills
End to end Strategic Sourcing skills, including market engagement, tender design
Able to demonstrate rich procurement and commercial expertise via previous roles
Detailed knowledge of one or more of the following categories; IT, Technology, telecommunications, professional services, facilities management, HR services.
Experience of working in the energy, government or telecommunications sectors
Demonstrable experience of delivery value for money for your organisation
Strong, demonstrable negotiation experience
Good influencing skills, stakeholder management, and problem solving
Functional and process improvement experience
Adaptive communication skills including ability to produce high-quality, concise written documentation and high-quality reports, give presentations and facilitate effectively (at all levels)

Skills and Experiences Desirable

Experience of leading change or transformation
Experience of working in a regulated environment
