Cloud 9 have received an exciting opportunity from a highly successful global packaging company who are looking to appoint a National Accounts Buyer.

The Role
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager you will support the National Accounts team in the sourcing and co-ordinating of all products over a range of product groups. This role oversees all commercial aspects of customer propositions prioritising the 'best fit' solution with the support of key supply chain partners.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Enquiries (NPE's) - generated by National Accounts Team.

Strategic Sourcing in line with selected suppliers.

Awareness of supplier agreements and Total Cost of Ownership.

Commercial contracting and negotiating.

In-Depth knowledge of manufacturing operations and commerciality of products.

Offering 'better fit' solutions or stock alternatives for bespoke enquiries - deciphering where an 'off the shelf' solution may be more cost effective than a 'bespoke' enquiry.

Managing coverage of bespoke stock so aged stock is avoided.

Analysing & following up NPE's with the National Accounts team.

Preparing reports and managing SLA performance.

Spend reporting & forecasting.

Supplier feedback & reviews.

Releasing of PO's ensuring correct price/supplier/destination and ensuring profitability.

Drawing, Artwork & Sample sign off - checking the accuracy of drawings & artwork in accordance with the brief and ensuring orders are not held up due to formalities but also that we have sign-off/coverage from the customer where bespoke.

Quality / Complaint Management - ensuring complaints are dealt with promptly, quantified and cost-effective solution is actioned.

Supplier Relationship Management - ensuring we are always working with the right partners and are offering value at all levels in the supply chain.

Supplier service level monitoring & managing - for supplier reviews with Purchasing Manager.

Working with Stock Control team on key lines & customer forecasting.

Experience, Skills and Qualities

* Educated to a minimum of Level 3 - A Level or equivalent.

* CIPS Level 4 Qualification Desired.

* Progressive, ambitious, and enthusiastic personality traits.

* Analytical and results driven.

* Customer focussed possessive of a 'can-do' attitude.

* Knowledge of the packaging industry desirable and an eagerness to pursue a career in buying/packaging.

* Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to make fully informed buying decisions on behalf of the business.

* Eagerness to take ownership for tasks and projects.

* Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

* Knowledge of SAP desirable.

* Able to demonstrate experience of disciplines gained in a Commercially driven business function.

* Financially aware and commercially astute with an analytical mind.

* 2 years' experience in a buying role desirable.

* Ability to effectively manage third party relationships and obtain favourable terms.

* Experience of effectively communicating to internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Remuneration
You will receive a competitive salary of up to GBP35K depending on experience
