Buyer
Responsibilities:
Manage purchasing spend (excluding intercompany) of $ 30 million
Actively seek new sources of supply to meet existing and future material and capital purchases
Negotiate binding contracts to support capital equipment purchases.
Act as the commercial subject matter expert for the local management team and attend reviews to provide advice and support to facilitate tactical and strategic decisions.
Process purchase orders and assist with stores to expedite when required, to ensure continuity of supply
Maintain departmental metrics - savings, stock outs, stock accuracy, orders processed, variable cost forecast and delivery performance.
Investigate quality complaints from internal customers and instigate corrective actions as necessary
Carry out commercial audits of potential new vendors
Identify potential customers for sale of assigned waste commodities
Identify areas of non-value-added activity and suggest changes to processes to eliminate waste

Experience, Skills, Qualifications & Ability:
Demonstrated experience of working in an engineering manufacturing environment in a similar role
Will understand technical design and drawings
Generating formal tender documents and contracts
Global / European sourcing with experience of managing diverse supplier base
Proven Negotiator capable of delivering results
Degree - ideally in a related subject
