Overview
2fawcett are recruiting for a Senior Buyer, to join a company located in Nottinghamshire on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for Purchasing, Procurement and Supply Chain, including planning, purchasing, inventory and materials control, as well as working with the Executive Team.
You will have a proven record of negotiation and converting into contractual agreements. You will manage the supply chain to ensure agreed stock levels are maintained and improves and customer service levels.
Role & Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer
* Developing the full concept of the supply chain, from supplier to customer
* Critically assessing and improving the supply chain, supplier base and procurement processes by designing and develop Standard Operating Procedures for Procurement & the Supply Chain
* Lead the procurement activity and negotiations for the supply of goods & services
* Increase profitability by continuous cost saving exercises to improve business profitability and commercial position
* Develop an efficient cost supply chain, taking advantage of alternative (international) sourcing
* Execute supply chain activities to contribute to the business plan, ensuring KPIs are set and achieved to deliver the business needs
* Ensure that the predicted sales & forecasting procurement process is supported by a working Sales & Operation Planning cycle each month
* Improve internal forecasting and demand planning in line with both current business requirements and achievement of growth targets
* Provide expertise and support to third party manufacturers in China and Europe to deliver robust supply chain processes
Skills and Experience required
* Experience of international purchasing and supply chains, particularly with regard to products that are configured to order rather than built for stock
* Demonstrable experience of leading by example in a small to medium sized business environment
* Excellent negotiation skills and able to operate in a commercially astute manner (both tactical and strategic)
