My Loughborough / East Midlands based client are looking to recruit a Group Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager, covering teams across two manufacturing sites: UK and European (x5-6 direct reports)

My global client have been established within their market for over 100 years and design, manufacture and supply high quality products within the engineering market. This Group Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager role will cover a combined European spend c. GBP20m across a UK, European and Far East supply base

Description

Strategy Development:

Define and keep up-to-date a supply chain & procurement strategy (for key categories) and plan for areas of spend under management, including performance measurement and management
Oversee combined strategy across multiple sites/ areas of the business and maintain a healthy pipeline of supply chain/ sourcing activityS&OP and Inventory Management:

Facilitate the S&OP process, optimising demand & supply
Optimise the level and composition of inventory on each site based on customer demand, supply lead times, safety stock required
Identify supply chain opportunities that deliver tangible benefits and manage the team to deliver a portfolio of planned and reactive supply chain projectsSourcing Projects:

Identify sourcing opportunities that deliver tangible benefits and manage the team to deliver a portfolio of planned and reactive sourcing projectsSRM:

Actively manage strategic suppliers to maximise value , e.g. influence innovation, R&D and business investment
Continually track the supply market - keeping abreast of developments, trends, risks and opportunities
Work effectively with R&D and value engineering groups to source next generation materials and componentsProfile

Experience (5-7 yrs) in a relevant Supply Chain Manager role in a multi-stakeholder and multi-site environment procuring and optimising direct technical material spend
Excellent and demonstrable sourcing skills - knowledge of all aspects of the 'strategic sourcing cycle' and working capital processes
Excellent contract definition skills and extensive experience adapting commercial terms to the benefit of the client
Experience of a programme based business with discrete production processes, alongside demonstrable experience of creating and managing category/supplier plans
Good educational achievement to Degree levelJob Offer
