The company is at the forefront of Hyperbaric Rescue, along with being the leading supplier of commercial diving equipment and saturation diving systems to the commercial industry.

As Technical Buyer you will provide support to our Procurement team at Westhill. This is a varied role best suited to those who enjoy a challenging, deadline orientated work environment with exciting and varied work. Within this role you will utilise your negotiation, organisation and communication skills to deliver within a global supply chain ensuring best value performance and best in class supply.

Key Accountabilities

?? Organising and leading meetings both internally and externally with suppliers.

?? Monitoring of supplier performance and feedback performance for continuous supplier improvement

?? Build and maintain effective working relationships with critical and key suppliers

?? Take ownership for daily activities in respect of suppliers including placing PO's, expediting and general supplier performance

?? Proactively communicate design changes to supply base and agree implementation and time-scales accordingly

?? Preparation and communication of build data packs, BOM's, Drawings & work instructions to suppliers

?? Source new and alternative sources as necessary following new supplier guidelines

?? Raising and placing purchase orders; obtaining price and delivery, gather approvals, raise and issue purchase orders to suppliers in good time

?? Issue enquiries, expedite and collate multi-vendor quotations

?? Working with Finance to match deliveries with invoices/reconcile queries

?? Providing accurate and timely reporting of order status' and cost savings

?? Working closely with the Stores, Production Management and Operations

?? Attend team meetings and company training sessions as scheduled

?? Variety of non-routine duties, includes holiday cover, as assigned by Supervisor

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced Buyer who has worked with technical drawings and has a good understanding of technical terms with respect to Mechanical and Electrical materials. You must also have excellent attention to detail, the ability to focus and delivery to tight deadlines and MS Office / Computer skills. Ideally you will be degree qualified, however we will also consider applications from individuals with industry experience. It is also important that you have a flexible, responsive mindset to work productively in a busy environment.
