As the Commercial Energy Specialist, you will have the exciting opportunity to use your passion for a greener future to develop you career relating to energy in a commercial environment. You will be the primary contact for our Energy Suppliers, to manage the day-to-day contract ensuring timely response to issues. You will monitor and report on supplier performance, keeping internal stakeholders informed and providing solutions for improvement. The role will also be responsible for supporting the Commercial Energy Lead on interpreting energy price forecasts, developing Southern Water hedging strategy, and assisting on Innovation related projects.

You will proactively work with our suppliers to ensure best practice and best value from our Energy Contracts to ensure our invoiced energy usage is accurate and timely and work with our internal and external stakeholders to manage any fault resolution, to determine root cause of project issues and replicate successes. You will keep up to date with changes in the Energy Industry and to develop a comprehensive understanding of best practice and competitor behaviour.

You will be a self-starter and a reflective learner with a commercial mindset in procurement. With strong and effective communication skills, you will have the ability to influence and challenge to ensure the best solution is found. You will have an analytical approach to data and a desire to develop your personal growth to complete a CIMA or Chartered Energy Qualification.
