Strategic Buyer - Fixed Term Contract
Randstad are recruiting for a Strategic Buyer on a fixed-term contract for a client based in Crewkerne. They are a large manufacturing company that specialise in hydraulics.
JOB PURPOSE
This role is to lead the strategic sourcing activities for 5-6 key suppliers for our client's site in Crewkerne. This includes formulating and executing a complete strategy for the suppliers.
MAIN DUTIES
Ensure that any health and safety guidelines are followed in accordance with the EHS organisational arrangements roles and responsibilities, including maintaining (and improving were possible) 5S standards and ensuring the correct PPE is worn.
Involvement in the High Performing Team (HPT)
Cooperate with Crewkerne stakeholders, Division stakeholders and stakeholders to:
Establish a supplier strategy for each of the assigned suppliers
Establish a potential supplier list (family of parts) to challenge each of the suppliers
Validate and lead the work to approve new potential suppliers as per Supplier Development and Change Management process
Make a resource/dual source/improvement plan for each supplier
Present the plan for key stakeholders and modify is requested
Execute and implement the approved plan
Support with daily work in the sourcing departmentKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Execute the approved strategy
Negotiate and prepare for signature the relevant agreements with any new suppliers selectedDECISION MAKING AUTHORITY
Responsible for supplier selection, keep or resource analysis with approval from Strategic Sourcing Manager and Division Supply Chain ManagerPLANNING AND ORGANISATION
Project manage the development of a new supplier strategy for the assigned suppliers.
Coordinate the strategy with all relevant stakeholder in Crewkerne, Division and Group to achieve the business needs
Establish annual Part Price Index impact based on new strategy
Understand and use the tools for supplier payment terms, price agreements
Plan travel as needed through the travel approval processJOBHOLDER EXPECTATIONS

University degree in Business and/or Engineering or relevant work experience

This is a 6-12 months fixed term contract role with a salary of GBP45,000-GBP50,000 DOE.
