To lead and drive all Town and Country Planning strategy and strategic initiatives in relation to the Property and estate portfolio.

This role will involve managing, promoting and lobbying the successful outcome of all planning applications to enable operational site development, asset enhancement, land disposal & development.

Description

Key to this role will be working closely with key stakeholders across the organisation, and their outsourced property service provider + external bodies, such as the local government authorities and/or London Borough Councils.

In addition to this, you'll be responsible for:

Overseeing planning team in assessing the strategy for proposed operational development on the organisations land portfolio & preparation and submission of minor applications where required.

Overseeing planning team in assuring 3rd party contractors and consultants' planning strategies, including planning applications for major site upgrades and other complex operational development. Providing an assurance role to the business to assess and seek to reduce planning risk.

Support the planning team in assuring strategic resource options planning and consenting assessments (major planning applications/DCOs).

Oversee the planning team review of Development Plan documents and in the drafting and submission of representations to Local Planning Authorities.

Identify opportunities to promote the organisation's sites, for operational uses where required, and alternative uses in liaison with the Land Strategy Manager.

Support the Estates Team in identifying planning opportunities and planning strategy for minor sales and alternative income streams

Support the review of CPO notices or other acquisition activity that may affect the interest of the organisation.

Provide planning advice in relation to any land sales/transfers, including assessing and assuring planning assumptions in red book valuations, alternative uses assessments etc.Profile

Our client is keen to hear from commercially driven candidates who are either MRICS or MRTPI chartered and can demonstrate they are able to -

Create compelling business cases based on sound development planning logic
Ability to influence strategic stakeholders at all levels
Technically strong with the ability to manage complex relationships
Experienced in planning/ development and a track record in delivering schemes from inception through to delivery

Base salary up to circa GBP65k p.a
Car allowance GBP5.8k
20% bonus changing to 15% base to 30% stretch from FY 23.
