Senior Buyer required for a well established manufacturing company based in Gloucester paying up to GBP50,000 with a strong benefits package which includes pension, life assurance, income protection, 33 days holiday and free parking.
Our client is a local manufacturing company that supplies products across a global market place with the support of 3 other international manufacturing sites.
Our client is looking for a Senior Buyer with previous experience in a manufacturing environment that can generate suitable commodity strategies, selecting and approving of suppliers. The Senior Buyer will need someone with proven negotiation skills and the ability to formalise negotiations through supply agreements. The following duties will form your job description but are not exhaustive:
- lead negotiations and formalise agreements through supply agreements
- cover for the purchasing managers in their absence, monitoring the team's performance to ensure targets are met
- coach and mentor other team members
- develop commodity strategies ensuring supply chain risks are understood
- build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
- support suppliers and be prepared to travel as required
As this is a key role within the business you will need the following experience:
- previous purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment
- helpful and supportive approach to resolution of challenges
- be able to work from technical drawings and specifications
- be flexible enough to travel as required
- experience with MRP/ERP systems
