At Recruit 2 You we are pleased to announce that an opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join our client's team in Derby! Our client prides themselves on their innovative designs, and high standards of quality control. Due to extensive growth, the are now looking to appoint a new Buyer within their team, reporting to the Purchasing and Business Systems Manager.

The new Buyer will be responsible for purchasing goods, researching a highly competitive target market and sourcing new suppliers for future products. You will be able to negotiate contracts with suppliers, evaluate quality goods, and manage an inventory.

Main Responsibilities:

* To manage the Purchasing department, approving invoices, forecasting and analysis, inventory value and stock control management.

* To manage and control costs of material in all areas of the business in line with annual budgets, negotiating contracts and sourcing the most cost-effective suppliers.

* To investigate and provide support with supplier complaints.

* Research new markets, products and manufacturing processes.

* Identify quality standards and ensure that all products meet the standards.

* Ensure that all deliveries satisfy purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products.

* Build new stock forecasts and update customer forecasts.

* To carry out any other relevant tasks as may be required by circumstances or on request from the Company.

Key Attributes:

* Educated to degree level or a minimum of 5 years buyer and purchasing experience

* Strong computer skills to encompass Microsoft, Outlook, social media and Marketing

* A competent knowledge of purchasing used within the medical device industry

* Demonstrate initiative, innovation, and enthusiasm

* A good understanding of quality procedures and health and safety including risk assessment

* Ability to plan, organise and communicate tasks effectively to a team, leading by example

* Able to work as part of a team and off own initiative, demonstrating a confident and competent approach to decision making

* Have a strong eye for detail with the ability to identify faults and provide solutions

* Have a positive attitude with a professional, patient, and approachable personality

* Excellent communication, time management, leadership, and employee development skills

* The ability to follow instructions and prioritise workload productively to meet deadlines

* The ability to lead, motivate and develop direct reports, demonstrating a driven and results-focused work ethic

Package:

* On offer is a salary of GBP32,000 - GBP40,000, depending on experience. A range of employee benefits, is available subject to a qualifying period.
