Technical Buyer

A manufacturer of high quality flow control products, my client provides bespoke design and fabrication services to various industries including; oil & gas, power generation, manufacturing and water industries.

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technical Project Buyer to join their team. You will be responsible for managing the supply chain for your assigned projects and possible future requirements. You will interpret contract specifications and source associated products to comply with customer requirements.

Requirements

* Minimum of 3 years in a similar technical buying role within an engineering/ manufacturing environment

* Good experience of interpreting technical drawings, data sheets, contract specifications, etc. and sourcing products

* Experienced in developing and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers and subcontractors

* Good attention to detail - ensuring data records are maintained accurately and comprehensively

* A good understanding of manufacturing engineering, including fabrication and welding techniques would be desirable

* Strong project planning skills with the ability to manage multiple high value contracts simultaneously

* Excellent communicator with strong negotiation skills

The successful candidate will receive a good salary up to GBP35,000 and be part of the company bonus scheme.
