Buyer (Engineering Steels) - Sheffield - Good salary & benefits
Ash Consulting are seeking to appoint an experienced Steel Buyer/Procurement specialist to work with our Sheffield based sub contract precision engineering machine shop client.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organise stock control and sourcing/ purchasing of steels for the production team
• Identify appropriate stock gaps and find supplier solutions that meet job requirements in terms of lead times and cost
• Review sales trends vs current stocks within the profile and purchase material accordingly
• Manage incoming stocks from Suppliers
• Produce a weekly stock monitor to include stock levels, purchases etc
• Maintain all PO's
• Review with production team and highlight issues of aged or potential aged stocks
• Review any import documentation and forward to relevant internal colleagues
Candidate Requirements:
• Purchasing experience, steel would be an advantage
• The ability to review sales trends v current stocks and purchase accordingly
• Excellent negotiating skills and sourcing new suppliers
• The production of monthly management reports
• You should be detail oriented, meticulous, organised, and efficient
• Procurement skills within engineering or sub-contractor environment
• Looking for a long-term meaningful career
This is a permanent role. Full Time, Monday to Friday 8.30am till 5.00pm with an early Friday finish. Salary: Highly Competitive plus pension, 23 days holiday and bank holidays .
