The purpose of the role is to source materials, equipment and services (including subcontracts and construction) for CAPEX projects under development of Group Engineering as well as other Plant and Equipment projects outside of Group Engineering control.

Description

Develop appropriate sourcing plans for CAPEX projects in compliance with the Engineering and Procurement procedures and in conjunction with the Category Director Category Manager(s), Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s)
Select suppliers, issue RFQs, evaluate tenders and conduct supplier negotiations for sourced items, to deliver project requirements and consistent with sourcing plans
Together with the relevant legal contact, develop supplier contracts containing the required insurance criteria and standard terms
Manage key supplier relationships to ensure contractual commitments are met and ensure coordination across Engineering and SBUs to maximise leveraging opportunities
Monitor progress to ensure goods and services are supplied in line with project plans and take actions to mitigate any identified risks
Assume dotted line management responsibility for any Expeditor assigned to the CAPEX project where they are the procurement lead
Lead resolution of quality and supply issues related to projects within Engineering and the region where applicable
Act as the key contact within Procurement for Engineering in relation to the specific projects being managed
Facilitate communication between Engineering, SBU stakeholders, local Engineering and the relevant Category Managers, in relation to the Procurement aspects of the projects being managed
Support the Category Director and Category Manager in analysing, describing and managing the supply market for the categories, including supply base, competitors, cost structures, market dynamics etc. (in relation to the CAPEX projects)
Develop strategies for key material groups to ensure risk mitigation is in place
Working closely with the wider MA Category and Engineering, consider life time cost of CAPEX equipment in sourcing decisions, including maintenance cost considerations and energy consumptionProfile

Degree and MCIPS desirable but not essential
Possess strong, well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Have excellent analytical and presentational skills, be results-orientated, and maintain high standards
Experience of global sourcing essential
Experience of subcontracts procurement and standard forms of contract (FIDIC, JCT, NEC) desirable but not essential
Computer skills required including full Office, Advanced Excel, SAP and preferably ARIBA or other procurement platformJob Offer

Working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Potential for hybrid working arrangements after training period
Salary - Upto GBP48k dependant on experience
25 days holiday per annum plus declared public holidays
