An exciting opportunity has arisen for a buying assistant/trainee buyer to join the buying team in a well-established bespoke labelling and packaging company, supplying to the fashion trade.
The buying team is responsible for the sourcing, costing and order progressing for all products. This involves initial price and delivery negotiations, quoting, sampling, and bulk order processing and chasing. Products are sourced from around the world, and in particular the Far East.
The successful candidate will assist the buying team with maintaining relationships with suppliers, through performance and relationship management and improving and enhancing the quality of service. This will be done by organising and chasing orders and updating the sales team and customers on the status of their orders.
Support is available for the progression towards the CIPS qualifications.
The candidate must possess the ability to work under pressure in this fast-moving industry, where timing and prioritising is everything. It is essential to be well organised and numerate and to be able to communicate and work well with colleagues and suppliers in both a professional and friendly manner.
