Buyer

Pertemps have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join their ever-expanding retail client based in their busy Head Office in Plymouth.
As a result of our clients expansion plans and continued ongoing success, they are seeking a dynamic Buyer to manage their customer offer. You will work closely with the Head of Buying to enhance the companies offering. Developing relationships with new and existing Suppliers whilst ensuring maximum value and efficiency for the business.

Responsibilities

As the Buyer, you will -
Have primary accountability for maximising sales, margin & profitability in this fast moving and diverse category
Lead a team building long term supplier relationships to deliver a successful product offer
Have ultimate responsibility for the implementation of the product strategy and ensuring that the business meets with customer needs
Monitor & review competitor information to ensure your product offering stays relevant in a changing market
Play a lead role in range reviews, supplier negotiations, promotions & pricing
You will work with your cross-functional team to ensure we deliver great product availability and quality
To be considered for the position, the successful candidate will need to have experience of buying, ideally with FMCG experience. You will have an excellent understanding of the consumer and of the marketplace and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. You will also need to have the ability build relationships and influence both internal and external stakeholders.

This is a permanent position, which the competitive salary will be discussed on application.
Working hours - Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 5:30pm, based in Derriford, Plymouth.
