Our client a manufacturer that specialises in high-performance motors are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Buyer for permanent vacancy. Hour for this role are Monday to Thursday, 7.30am-4.15pm. Friday, 7.30am-12.30pm or 4.15pm (variable finish)
The Assistant Buyer will be required to source products and commodities in line with the business needs, to meet customer expectations.
Duties include, but not limited to:
?? Ensuring that purchase orders and requisitions are placed on a timely basis in relation to confirmed customer orders
?? Using the company's MRP, place orders for materials to replenish stock levels
?? Leasing with peers in purchasing team to support with the procurement needs for the business
?? Maintaining and monitoring KPIs to optimise supply chain performance
?? Identifying opportunities for cost saving initiatives and liaising with relevant stakeholders to achieve them
?? Liaising with suppliers to establish effective working relationships and increase efficiencies within the supply chain
?? Contacting suppliers and hauliers to establish estimated arrival times
?? Assisting the Purchasing Manager with related procurement projects
?? Working with Production and Production planning on material availability and deliveries
?? Working with the Stores department to support the planning of stock movement and storage as well as establishing the need for replenishment of parts
?? Analyse spend and supplier data, providing relevant information to support business initiatives and improvements
?? Various administrative tasks that support the purchasing function; entering vendor information, invoices, pricing into internal systems.
