Vacancy: Strategic Buyer

Location: Exeter, Devon

Salary: GBP30,000 per annum

Interaction Recruitment are seeking an experienced Strategic Buyer to join their esteemed electronics manufacturing client based in Exeter, Devon on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Strategic Buyer has a critical role in ensuring the smooth running of the product supply chain, through active supplier relationship management, whilst delivering on cost savings to the business. The successful candidate will work closely with the product managers to deliver the best solutions to market at the most competitive prices while maintaining inventory targets.

Main Accountabilities:

Manage a portfolio of products, ensuring on time delivery and active supplier relationship management

Support the business on supported project costs

Monitoring supplier performance and resolving and escalating queries where necessary

Working in conjunction with product management and NPI integration

Undertake and maintain Market Analysis and Benchmarking to validate current costs and identify opportunities

Working closely with the procurement and product managers to identify and deliver cost saving initiatives

Operate and me accountable for the given product portfolio

To ensure compliance with Company Procurement policies

Identify cost saving opportunities within the market through Spend Analysis

Support the purchasing team for product alternatives and mitigate the impact to the business

Create and distribute monthly KPI/Update reports to the leadership teams

To promote an environmentally protective and health & safety conscious work environment

Professional experience:

Procurement experience - CIPS qualified or working towards preferable

Highly IT literate (SAP experience preferable)

An understanding of electronics manufacturing business would be an advantage

Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage a demanding workload effectively

Strong negotiator

Good knowledge of contract and purchasing agreements
